Dances at Sunset 30" x 48"

Drawing inspiration from the evening skies in the Baja California Sur of Mexico, this landscape is visually compelling by the alluring detail created with layers of mixed medium. The top portion of the painting was intentionally left smooth, allowing for dramatic nightfall skies to be executed through thin washes of oil. Dappled light plays cross the terrain and seascape, highlighting various colors and texture creating a dramatically expressive night sky.
